About Young STEM Scholars
The greatest scientific, medical, and engineering advances of our society will be spearheaded by the next generation. By equipping students with the right tools and training now, these young adults will be ready for the future challenges these advances will demand. Moreover, by nurturing each student’s unique interests, strengths, and talents in a respectful environment, we promote a growth mindset that resonates best with each individual in their intellectual development.

Deliverables for students in Young STEM Scholars programs
- Introduction to career mentors to build strong advisory relationships that last well into their professional development
- Enhanced scientific and medical literacy
- Knowledge of data mining; data analysis; use and application of in silico tools and electronic databases.
- First authorship on poster presentations for local, regional, and/or national science symposia
- First authorship on a research abstract
- Authorship on a scientific manuscript
- Opportunities for competition and enhanced scholarship/college entry applications
- Establishment, development & growth of career networks
